that is a morbid story. This photograph doesn’t relate to that story directly. This is the first I have seen it. This is more in relation to my own experiences right now and trying to capture a certain hopelesness/numbness. The dark living room setting with the blank t.v. set were ment to convey these feelings or at least an attempt. The T.V. to me is as much a symbol of our society as it is a vehical for information. We are quick to turn it on and are often transfixed by the images. What is broadcasted is often devoid of much substance hence the blank screens also the blank minds. My subject is “left of dead” because so many around us feel dead and wish for death themselves while living. Its sad no one noticed a man sitting infront of his television since 2005. What does that say about us all or? or does it say a thing?
We just discovered a man sitting dead in my work parking lot. Been there since Monday. Various excuses were given for not noticing till today. No obvious cause.
I agree with you. In a related way, I’m finding myself getting leary of being online. It’s getting irritating keeping up with stuff on Flickr, MySpace, Personal and Business Website. I should just give Lenny a call. Go hang out somewhere. They make it so easy to settle for doing enough so the bills are paid and zonning out in front of some screen. Wait, I’m doing that right now… Later.
